Old World 2025 Campaign Conclusion

Crossfire’s Old World Beginner’s Campaign Concludes With An Epic Conflict!

Having driven the Chainmaker and her forces back to the coastline in a bloody campaign, Miao Ying knew that one final battle could see the followers of the Ruinous Powers banished from the shores of the Empire. However, the Chaos Champion had retreated to the town of Hollum, her fortified outpost and the site of her forsaken monument. The Storm Dragon was unsure what power lay within the great icon, but she knew that the Dark Gods would be paying close attention to their favoured champion, and the Chainmaker’s warriors would fight that much harder in the knowledge that the gaze of the gods was fixed firmly upon them.

Crossfire’s Old World beginner’s campaign – The Journey to the West – came to an Empire-shattering conclusion on Thursday the 20th of November with a 12-general recreation of the Reclamation of Hollum, the final desperate push to force the hordes of Chaos back from the Empire of Man.

The campaign was a huge success for Warhammer Old World at the club. Armies were of a reduced size of only 500 points, and we had over 20 players taking part. Playing for three months, over dozens of games alliances were made and broken, and the fires of enmity were well and truly stoked.

The Reclamation of Hollum

The centre of the battlefield was dominated by a malevolent chaos monument, which the armies fought to control. Although the forces of Cathay buckled, here the Empire saw off the combined might of daemons and chaos warriors to claim victory for them and their allies.

On the east flank, in the ruins of the city, a wandering giant ploughed into both sides, but was eventually dispatched by Brettonian peasants! However, the combined forces of greenskins and dark elves pushed back against the men of the Empire trying to reclaim their home.

To the west, lizardmen saw off the attacking beastmen brayherd, while dwarven forces managed to steal victory in the last turn to claim the Seal of Sigmar from a chaos warrior warband, thus claiming a magic item they will get to use in future conflicts.

And there will be future conflict. Although the forces of chaos have been expelled from the Empire of Man for the time being, they have not been deterred. Even now massive hordes are beginning to amass, and as our combatants return to their homelands they know they need muster even greater armies to help their people survive the fights to come.

And these battles will not be small forays between scouting forces on the highways and byways of the Old World.

These will be conflicts between Mighty Empires!

The story continues – and the Seal of Sigmar returns – in our large-scale, map-based campaign in spring 2026!
