What is Warhammer 40k?

Warhammer 40K (often shortened to ’40k’) is a tabletop miniature wargame set in a grimdark, dystopian sci-fi universe, where brutal armies clash across the galaxy in a never-ending war. Players take on the roles of commanders, leading their chosen faction’s armies in strategic battles of epic scale. With a vast array of diverse factions, intricate lore, and intense tactical gameplay, Warhammer 40K offers an immersive and thrilling experience for gamers and hobbyists alike.

Playing 40k at Crossfire

When we started the club we wanted to make sure that it had great full sized, themed tables for people to play on. As it can really enhance your games, help tell a story and make games more engaging and fun!

Maybe this week you will be fighting over a Necron Tomb World, an Ork Scrap Town, some Slaanesh-corrupted Aeldari ruins or Tyranid infested city ruins. We are also putting together narrative scenarios such as our Assault on the Eternity Wall. Fancy something smaller? We also have some sets of Boarding Actions and Kill Team terrain and boards to play on. And that’s just the terrain!

How to Get Started with Warhammer 40k?

Arranging Intro Games

If you’re new to the game or are thinking about getting into it but haven’t decided on an army yet, don’t fret!

We are always more than happy to run through some intro games with you to help you learn the basics and get up to speed with the rules.

If you’d like to arrange an intro game, you can get in touch with us directly via Facebook, Email, Discord or approach one of the committee on a club night.

No Army? No Problem!

We usually have a few pre-set beginner armies available most nights or a few spare armies that we are happy for you to try out.

The club has also purchased a copy of the new Warhammer 10th Edition Leviathan starter box, which in time will be available at the club.
