Painting Submissions

Submissions for our Painting Competition

A massive thank you to everyone that took the time to paint up an entry or two (or indeed three) to submit to our painting competition. We made sure to get Dan over with his camera and set up a photoshoot on the night to ensure we could snap all the entries looking their best.

There was a lot of talent on display and all of the entries were of a high calibre. The committee are still reviewing and making decisions on what gets our vote, it really isn’t easy!

The Crossfire Painting Awards

We’ve stepped up our game this year, winners (and runners up) will walk away with their very own purity seal fridge magnet, how cool is that!

The overall winner will get their name added to a purity seal on the club’s Slayer Chainsword, as well as their own purity seal to take home.

Aspiring Champion Entries

This category is intended for newer or less experienced painters. Judging focuses on creativity, effort, and overall presentation rather than technical skill. Submissions can include single models, squads, or large miniatures.

Large Miniatures & Vehicle Entries

Reserved for large-scale models including monsters, vehicles, mechs, and titanic units. Entries in this category demonstrate painting across a larger canvas with attention to scale and detail.

Squad Entries

Open to groups of two or more models, this category includes squads, teams, and warbands. It covers a range of miniatures on foot or mounted on small vehicles, such as bikers or jetbikes.

Single Miniatures Entries

This category focuses on a single figure, from small characters to larger centrepiece models like Primarchs or Daemon Princes. It’s an opportunity to showcase detailed painting on an individual model. Anything larger belongs in the Large Miniature category.

Announcing the Winners & the People’s Choice Vote

The judges’ winners will be announced in a bit. After that, we’ll be opening voting for the People’s Choice Award. To give more members a chance to be recognised, this vote will focus on entries that narrowly missed out on a judges’ award. It’s your chance to have a say and celebrate some outstanding work from across the competition.
