Introducing Tabletop Together

Tabletop Together at Crossfire Gaming Club

Tabletop Together is a New Way to Try Games at Crossfire

We’re really pleased to share something we’ve put together with the help of Lanarkshire Links and the NLDF: a new initiative called Tabletop Together, running at Crossfire Gaming Club throughout the first half of the year.

This is all about making it easier for people to start playing, try new systems, and feel comfortable walking through the door, whether you’re brand new to tabletop gaming or just fancy a change from your usual game.

What’s Tabletop Together All About?

Tabletop Together is focused on intro games and low-pressure play. The goal is simple: remove as many barriers as possible and give people a relaxed, friendly way to get dice on the table.

Every Thursday night, we’ll be setting aside dedicated table space for intro games, with club members on hand to help run them and guide players through the basics. These aren’t tournaments or hardcore practice games, they’re about learning, chatting, and enjoying the hobby together.

To make it even easier to get involved:

  • Entry will be free for everyone taking part in a Tabletop Together intro game
  • Each participant will get a drink and a snack on us
  • This includes new players, people trying a new system, and those running the games

If you’ve ever thought “I’ll come along once I understand the rules a bit better”, this is very much aimed at you!

Not Just for New Players

While a big part of Tabletop Together is welcoming new faces, it’s not limited to first-timers.

If you’re an existing member who wants to:

  • Try a different system without committing to an army/warband/faction
  • Learn a new game in a supported setting
  • Help introduce others to something you enjoy playing

…then this is very much for you as well.

Some of the best moments at Crossfire come from someone explaining a game they love to someone who’s never played it before. Tabletop Together is about creating more of those moments.

Want to Help Run an Intro Game?

We’ll be actively scheduling intro games, and we’re looking for members who’d like to help run them.

You don’t need to be a rules guru or run anything complicated. Small, straightforward games that introduce the core mechanics are perfect. If you’re interested, the club will support you with table space, materials, and by covering your entry and refreshments on the night.

If that sounds like your thing, have a word with a committee member or drop us a message.

Find Out More

This post is just the announcement, we’ve put together a full page with all the details, how it works, and how to get involved.

We’ll also be sharing more details soon about specific intro games and systems, so keep an eye on the site and our socials.

As always, if you’ve been thinking about popping along to Crossfire… this might be the perfect excuse. Roll some dice, meet some people, and see what the club’s all about.
