Chaos Has Come to the Empire
Frydaal the Chainmaker has led her wolfships across the Sea of Claws, establishing a foothold in the Westerland from which she now strikes into the heart of the Empire. Her boldness has inspired others to follow. Beastmen stir in the depths of the Great Forest. Greenskin warbands descend from the World’s Edge Mountains. Even Settra’s legions march north through Black Fire Pass after their bloody campaign in the Border Princes.
Yet the Empire does not stand alone.
Miao Ying, the Storm Dragon, has landed in Marienburg and now commands the forces of Grand Cathay in the war against Chaos. Knights of Bretonnia, answering the call to arms, ride to battle with lances held high. Elves and dwarfs, ancient rivals, stand united with mankind to drive back the tide of darkness.
But even among all these momentous events, none are as significant as this:
The Seal of Sigmar has been found.
This powerful artifact, gifted to the Empire by the God-King himself before his disappearance, is rumoured to have resurfaced. Victory on the battlefield will allow generals to follow whispers and omens to its location. One final clash will decide who claims the Seal and earns the God-King’s blessing. It is a mighty prize for the conflicts that lie ahead.

Journey to the West: An Old World Beginner Campaign
Campaign Start Date: 14th August
Campaign End Date: 13th November
This is a beginner-friendly Warhammer: The Old World narrative campaign, designed for new players or veterans building a fresh force.
Why a beginner campaign?
Each game is played at just 500 points, making it much easier to get models on the table. The lower point size is ideal for learning games and new hobbyists, with a slower pace and fewer rules to manage early on.
How does it work?
- 500 points per side
- Games can be played either solo or as doubles (great for pairing newcomers with experienced players)
- The campaign is split into three stages, each lasting about a month
- One game per month is expected, though we can be flexible based on individual schedules
The campaign will conclude with a dramatic final battle between the top two generals to determine who claims the Seal of Sigmar.
What do I need to play?
- Most Warhammer: The Old World battalion boxes contain more than enough models for a 500-point force
- Many Age of Sigmar armies can be used with movement tray converters that allow them to rank up properly
- Don’t have an army yet? No worries. Several of our regular players have spare forces and would be happy to lend one out. The best way to arrange this is by heading to our Discord channel and giving us a shout
No painting requirements this time around. We want to keep things accessible and encourage anyone to give the game a try.
What’s at stake?
The overall winner of the campaign will claim the Seal of Sigmar, a unique narrative relic. This item will carry forward into our next big event:
Mighty Empires — a full-scale, map-based club campaign launching in early 2026
The Seal will be a zero-cost bonus item that the winning general from Journey to the West can use during the Mighty Empires campaign. It may turn the tide in key battles to come.

Ready to join the fight?
Head over to the Old World channels in the Crossfire Discord and enlist your army today.
The fate of the Empire hangs in the balance!
