Narrative Crusade for 2025
The Fires of Treachery Crusade is Crossfire Gaming Club’s latest Warhammer 40K narrative campaign, set on the embattled world of Certus Minor. Following on from our hugely successful Certus Crusade last year.
Players will lead 2000 point armies through a story-driven conflict where resources grow scarce, relics must be fought for, and new threats constantly emerge.
The campaign focuses on immersive battles, creative storytelling, and community involvement as our members shape the fate of the Certus system together.
Taking Part
To take part, you will first need to sign up via the Discord Server and create an army roster to use for the duration of the campaign.
Army Construction
In a crusade, you will have a roster, effectively a pool of units that you can choose from between games. Each of these will gain experience, skills and battle scars over the course of the crusade, you will also be able to expand your roster.
- Starting roster of 2000 points
- Normal army construction rules apply
- Once a player has selected a detachment they must stick with it for the duration of the crusade.
When picking your Crusade army you can select any units in your codex/index with a couple of caveats:
- No Named Characters: Generic Epic Heroes may be allowed with approval from the Crusade Team.
- No Allies: Armies must be dedicated forces. The only exception is Inquisitors where narratively appropriate.
- Legends Allowed: Permitted if usable by your faction and fitting your narrative. Confirm with the Crusade Team if unsure.
- One Starting Enhancement: You may choose one, paying the points cost. Additional enhancements require RP and points during the campaign.
- No Relics at Start: Relics can be earned through Boarding Actions or other campaign events.
We’re aware that not all factions fit the baseline rules above, please contact the @CrusadeTeam on Discord if you have any Q’s, we are also happy to work with people to come up with solutions/workarounds.
We will be using Goonhammer’s Administratum application, which you can upload your Battlescribe/Warhammer App Rosters to and keep track of unit progression.
Unit Progression
Player will be expected to roll for ALL randomised choices throughout this crusade, this includes Out of Actions tests, Weapon Modifications & Battle Traits.
After playing your crusade missions:
- You will be expected to roll all of your out of action tests on the club’s Discord Server.
- Please do roll for any battle scars on your units after you have rolled for the out of action tests
- When choosing your upgrades you will be expected to roll, on discord, on the appropriate tables for each of your units.
- We WILL NOT be using the Striding Behemoths progression system. We will be using the bespoke system created for last years crusade instead.
Battle Ready Armies
To be able to claim points for being ‘Battle Ready’ within a game the following rules will apply:
- Phase 1: Every model on the battlefield must be at least undercoated
- Phase 2: Every model on the battlefield must have at least one additional colour
- Phase 3 & Beyond: Every model on the battlefield must have at least 3 colours & be based
Signup Deadline
Army lists should be submitted by midnight on Sunday the 31st of August.
We will sort you out with access to the Campaign via Goonhammer before then but you can still create your roster before then by signing up.
