Crossfire Gaming Club Returns to Cumbernauld Village Hall – Thursday 14th August
It’s been a long few weeks away from our regular home, but I’m happy to say that Crossfire Gaming Club will be back in the Cumbernauld Village Hall from Thursday 14th August, following the end of the summer holiday period. For those who don’t know, during the school holidays North Lanarkshire Council doesn’t allow community bookings for the hall – which is why we’ve been operating from the temporary venue of the Burns & Old Parish Church in Kilsyth over this period.
From the 14th, we’ll be back to our regular Monday and Thursday club nights, running from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. That means our normal routine can resume: tables full of wargames, dice rolling, hobby area, and the usual mix of banter and hobby chat.
There’s one small caveat – for our first Thursday session back (Thursday 14th August), we’ve been asked to finish up and be out of the hall by 9:45pm instead of 10:00pm. Not a huge difference, but worth keeping in mind when you’re planning your games that night. After that, it’s business as usual.

I know a lot of our members (myself included) have been looking forward to getting back to our familiar space. The Village Hall gives us the room we need, plenty of tables, and that comfortable “home turf” feeling that just makes club nights better.
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone back – whether you’ve been with us at the temporary venue or you’ve been taking a break over the summer, now’s the perfect time to get back into your games.
If you’ve not been to the village hall before, the caretaker opens the black door which faces onto the small car park as it is right next to the stairs. This door is left ajar once its opened (usually from about 5:50ish), though we ask that if it isn’t open, please wait for the caretaker to come and unlock it from the inside.

Regular Times from 14th August:
- Mondays: 6:00pm – 10:00pm
- Thursdays: 6:00pm – 10:00pm (except Thursday 14th – finish at 9:45pm)
See you back at the tables!*
…*Except I won’t for the first couple weeks as I’ll be on holiday
