The opening games of our Fires of Treachery Crusade kicked off with a bang, with a good mix of 1v1 and team games taking part. Alliances have took their first steps towards securing some territorial gains, control of which will provide some unique benefits.

Here’s a summary of Week One…

Da Dread Mob Stomp Into Silent Dockyards

The Silent Dockyards shook to the roar of engines and the thunder of titanic footfalls as Da Dread Mob made their entrance. Rusted plates, belching smoke stacks, and the howling of boyz echoed through the ruined yards. In their first clashes, the greenskin horde proved they were more than just noise, they left wreckage and ruin in their wake.

Da Dread Mob have 20% Control of the Silent Dockyards

Early Victories

Da Dread Mob’s rampage began with a brutal 2v2 scrap, where the boyz joined forces with the shining Custodes and the twisted Drukhari. Together, they smashed through the Shattered Veil alliance, scattering their foes and stamping their claim on the Dockyards. In another clash, towering Chaos Knights fought alongside the Mob and ground the golden Custodes into the dust, showing the greenskins’ knack for being on the side that delivers the krumpin’.

A Frenemy’s Gambit

The Mob’s warboss Kommissar Grotski wasn’t afraid of a risky deal, teaming up with a Frenemy in the form of the Clowns from the Seduced Panoply alliance in a desperate push against the Aquilae Liberatii. The alliance of convenience ended in defeat, but not before the battlefield was torn apart by the rampaging Giant Stompa. The war engine’s guns and massive klaws left a trail of devastation, proving that even in loss, Da Dread Mob make sure no one forgets who stomped through.

Aquilae Liberatii: Holding the Line

The Aquilae Liberatii found themselves caught in a storm of madness when they faced the unlikely pairing of Da Dread Mob’s towering Stompa and the deathly jesters of the Seduced Panoply. The battlefield was torn apart in a maelstrom of explosive firepower and lethal theatrics, leaving the Liberatii bloodied but unbowed.

Though forced to lick their wounds after the clash, the warriors of the Aquilae Liberatii pressed on with grim determination. Their resolve carried them to the Tomb of Umberto II, where they established a vital foothold amidst the cryptic ruins. The ground may be scorched and the dead unquiet, but the Liberatii now hold the keys to a new front in the Silent Dockyards campaign.

Seduced Panoply: The Thousand Sons’ Claim

The Thousand Sons of the Seduced Panoply also set their gaze upon the Tomb of Umberto II. Descending in sorcerous splendour, they clashed with the Cadian 308th Astra Militarum, who fought under the banner of Da Dread Mob. The Cadians’ disciplined volleys and trench-born grit slowed the advance, but warp-fire and impossible stratagems tore through their lines.

When the last guns fell silent, the Rubricae stood unchallenged amid smoking ruins, their sorcerer-kings weaving wards over the Tomb. With the Cadians cast down, the Thousand Sons carved their own foothold into the ancient sepulchre, setting the stage for rival powers to contest the dead halls.

Bug King’s Alliance: First Conquests

The Black Sepulchre

The first great strike of the Bug King’s Alliance came at Hive Mordigan, better known as the Black Sepulchre. Here, the Thousand Sons and Death Guard fought side by side in grim unison, their sorcery and decay intertwining to devastating effect. Against them stood the stoic Kin of the Leagues of Votann, whose guns barked defiantly in the choking gloom of the hive. The battle raged through shattered spires and corpse-clogged avenues, yet the resilience of the Votann was ground down beneath relentless plague and warp-fire.

When the smoke lifted, the Black Sepulchre was in the Bug King’s grasp, their banners of rust and witch-light planted amidst the ruins of Mordigan’s corpse-hive.

The Mire of St Veyra

Elsewhere, the greenskin tide of the Bug King’s Alliance surged into the Mire of St Veyra, a collapsed hive now reduced to stinking swampland. Here they met the fury of the Space Wolves, whose counter-attack was fierce and unyielding. Bolter fire and howling warriors carved deep into the Ork ranks, but numbers and momentum could not be denied.

At last, with a triumphant roar, the Orks crashed through the final line and claimed the Mire for their own. Their crude totems and banners now jut from the muck, a defiant proclamation that the swamps belong to the Waaagh!, no matter how foul or treacherous the ground beneath their boots.

The Bug King's Alliance hold 4% Control over the Mire of Saint Veyra
The Bug King's Alliance hold 6% Control over Hive Mordigan

The Shadow Alliance: Whispers in the Dark

Little is spoken of the Shadow Alliance, and less still is known. While the great powers clash openly across Certus Minor, whispers carry on broken vox-feeds and half-seen movements in the dark. Already, their agents have made their first moves, twisting events from behind the veil.

Rumours tell of hidden conclaves gathering in secret vaults and forgotten chambers, where dark bargains are struck and strategies whispered in hushed tones. Who they serve and what they seek remains shrouded, yet the pattern of conflict already bears their mark. Every victory, every loss, may be no more than another thread in the Shadow Alliance’s unseen design.
