This week we are kicking off Act II of our Fires of Treachery Crusade and have a few updates.
First, Some Reminders
Battle Ready Armies – 10 VP at Stake!
Act II means that for units to be considered ‘Battle Ready’ and to get 10 Victory Points for them so, models must be:
- Undercoated
- Have at least one additional colour.
Crusade Blessings – Free Buffs!
Every army will now have accrued Crusade Points, if there is a difference of at least 5 points, the person with the lower score is considered the Underdog and will get access to a number of Crusade Blessing Bonuses.
DIFFERENCE IN CRUSADE POINTS | NUMBER OF BLESSINGS |
0-4 | 0 |
5-9 | 1 |
10-19 | 2 |
20+ | 4 |
Make sure to check and compare Crusade Points before a game! Having a few blessings can make all the difference!
Act II Dates
Act II of our Fires of Treachery Crusade runs from the 2nd – 20th of October.
Hall Closed for October Week
Unfortunately, the Village Hall is closed over the October Week (13th-17th), due to the fact that North Lanarkshire Council have deemed that the building doesn’t have enough demand and therefore is subject to term-time closures.
We’ve even had it suggested that they are in league with the Shadow Alliance, trying to prevent folks from making gains!
As such, we are not going to put out as many missions for Act II.
Alliances Locked for Now
The Crusade Team has made the decision to keep the alliances locked for now, mainly as it’ll be a shorter Act with less opportunity to play. However, at the end of Act II there might be the opportunity for some lineups to change.
Act II Missions
The missions for Act II are now live, we have a 1v1 in the form of The Gauntlet, where the attacking player is trying to take territory from the defender but must force their way through a tight corridor to do so.
We are also introducing the Blood Challenge scenario, where warlords can step into the arena with a small force and test their mettle against a worthy opponent. If they win, they could walk away with a relic that is safe from being stolen by nefarious betrayal mechanics but if they lose, they will gain a battle scar.
For the Blood Challenges we will be using the King of the Colosseum terrain I designed and printed a load of for the club.
Care Package for Struggling Commanders
“Through the ragged warp-incursions that scar the Certus System, fractured supply lines find their mark. Broken warhosts are bolstered by long-delayed reinforcements, their wounded given time to mend, their defences strengthened for the trials yet to come. In the shadow of betrayal and ruin, even the most beleaguered commander may rise anew.”
We are aware that not everyone will have as much XP, get to have played as many games or may not have too many victories under their belt. We want the campaign to be fun and as such have decided to give players that could use it a little boost. Therefore, at the end of Act 1, any player who has lost 2 or more games receives the following reinforcements:
- Increase Supply Limit: +300pts (allowing you to add some more options to your roster)
- 1 Repair & Recuperate requisition
- 1 Shield Token

The club’s Fabricator General, Lord of the Forge and all-round heretic 🙂
