Clashing Titans: The Battle for the Certus System Rages On
The combined might of the Space Marines fights back, pushing to regain territory across the system. Captain Clavicus has reinforced Lieutenant Inius Habhan, the most decorated fighter in the region, bringing additional forces to bear. With his damaged battleship now repaired, Clavicus returns to the fray. Together, they have triumphed over Autarch Serebella Witt and her Tau allies, securing a portion of Tertious. With that they can begin to poison the Hive Fleet’s beachhead and smoke the creatures out. Meanwhile, the Tau commanders repositioned their substantial Kroot allies to launch a counteroffensive and reclaim lost ground. They have the advantage of numbers and time, luxuries the Imperial forces lack. Commander Shas’o Di’Ziet Sma has requested reinforcements from Commander Kovac to stem the tide and restore order to the chaos.
Captain Auron holds a dark secret but dares not share it, even with the Imperial allies or his own Custodian Guard. He fears that even the slightest whisper could doom not just this system but the entire quadrant of the galaxy. Weighing his limited options, he knows his forces cannot be everywhere at once, and every fallen comrade is a devastating loss. Rumours of corruption within their ranks plague him. He has interrogated Sister Veridia Demeter extensively, but she denies all accusations. Her battle sisters, among the most experienced in the combat zone, fight with a ferocity that belies their small numbers. Meanwhile, Cardinal Ardentius remains a source of frustration. His mounting battle losses continue to bleed the Imperium dry at an alarming rate, yet he insists all is done in the Emperor’s light and His name.
The forces of Chaos are regrouping, their foul corruption spreading in the shadows. Molothe, blessed by the Lord of Blight, presses on with his vile quest. He seeks treasures to offer his master, Nurgle, who dreams of transforming the Certus system into a decayed garden, a spawning ground for his influence across the Segmentum Obscurus. To achieve this, they must unlock a key that will shatter one door and blast open another.
Grog Skullsplitta is euphoric! The battlefield is filled with endless enemies for him to test his skills against. He has already felled countless “shiny heads” and their war machines, and now sees the growing Hive presence as a fresh challenge. Supported by the Speed Freaks of the Sunz of Anorky, he charges headlong into battle. His path leads directly into the maw of Mati, the disciple of Warp Horn, and the Genestealer Cult led by the enigmatic Hank Hill. Their clash on the fields of Certus Prime promises to be nothing short of LEGENDARY!
Phase 4 of our Warhammer 40K Crusade
Welcome to month 4 all who have made it so far! We are going to keep the buffs for Green and Red teams going to see if they can catch up.
This month we saw the forces of the Yellow team cast a Soulstorm on Secoundus, laying low the Blue, Purple and Orange teams and taking more territory for themselves – and now benefiting from PLENTY more buffs!
The Red team have managed to best the Purple team to take control of an additional slice of Tertious – for a further 2% increase. This month’s team on team battle will be Yellow Vs Orange in the mission Kicking the Nest, where the Orks and their pointy-eared allies attempt to weaken the Tyranid Hive Mind’s control over the sector. As usual there are a further 2 land missions this month and a really fun looking boarding actions mission that everyone can play.
This is likely to be a short month as we break for Xmas and have our Colosseum event on the 19th!
Global Rule Updates
There’s just a couple of updated global rules this month.
- Anyone who plays me – as a benefit to those willing to do so – will gain 2 additional Marked for Greatness bonus selections in addition to whatever else they get.
- Additionally, the model or unit that slays Inius Habhan, the system’s most decorated fighter! Will gain a Marked for Greatness bonus in addition to any other benefits.
