What’s Planned for 2024

We still have December to come but thought we’d post up a wee look forward at what events/campaigns etc are already pencilled in for early 2024 for club nights at Crossfire. To help folks decide what they want to take part in after the new year and maybe make a start on some projects.

Age of Sigmar Escalation League

There has been a bit of interest around Age of Sigmar at the club for a while and the odd game taking place. A few people have picked up or started building armies but we’ve not seen many games. Curtis has decided to take the reigns on this and will be kicking off an Escalation League early next year. This will be ideal for anyone looking to learn the game or start a new project.

The goal is to start small, probably at 500 points and slowly add to that each month. If you want to take part we’d advise starting to build & paint your first few units in anticipation.

When Will it Kick Off?

So far we are aiming to kick this off late February (currently planned for the 24th Feb), it’ll likely be a slow burn project over at least a couple months, allowing people to build up their armies over time.

Necromunda Campaign

I’ve been keen to get some Necromunda going at the club for a while and there now seems to be sufficient interest to do so. I’m currently rattling my way through a whole load of different terrain sets to make for some fun and interesting environments for gangs to wage war over.

My initial plan was to do an Ash Wastes campaign and include vehicles but we will get a few games in before the end of the year to get to grips with the rules and make a final decision then.

When Will it Kick Off?

I’m aiming for to get this started early next year after the club starts up again (likely the 18th January).

Horus Heresy Campaign

We’ve been seeing an increase in the number of people playing Horus Heresy over the last few months which is great! Off the back of the growing interest, Tom has decided to run a short Narrative Campaign. So far the plan is to do this over 4 missions, with games at 3k a side.

When Will it Kick Off?

We don’t have a set date yet but it is pencilled in for early 2024, so most likely Jan/Feb.

Other Things Going On

Bloodbowl League

There has been some initial talk about starting up a Bloodbowl League, the plan current plan is to have a Summer League and then later on in the year have a Winter League. So that people can drop in/out, change their teams or start again with a fresh roster and getting rid of those injuries.

We don’t have a specific date yet but do let us know if this is something you’d be interested in.

Warhammer 40k League/Championship

We’ve done a Narrative Warhammer 40k Crusade, now we are thinking of doing something a little bit more competitive in the form of either a League or doing similar to a Championship event with group stages followed by knockouts.

Again, no finalised date set yet but this will probably kick off around about April at the earliest.
