As mentioned in the previous update about needing to get more terrain, we have seen a rise in the number of people attending the club. In part due to our extremely popular Warhammer 40k Crusade. As well as a steady trickle of new people coming along and checking us out or arranging their first games. If you haven’t come along yet and are keen to get involved do give us a shout!
In addition to needing more terrain, we also needed to get some new gaming mats, which we took along for the first time to the club last night.
We wanted to make sure that we had a good mix, that could both be used for sci-fi gaming as well as be used for historicals or anything else. Naturally, we want to ensure the best gaming experience possible for our attendees, and this means that they had to be full sized 6×4 gaming mats.
Where’d We Get the Mats From?
We got in touch with our friends at Gamemat.eu, who were more than happy to knock a bit off the price seeing as we are a gaming club (they do special club prices, so if your club is looking to pick up some gaming mats make sure to drop them a message). It’s also worth pointing out that they also cover any import duties & taxes on orders from the UK as a result of Brexit. Unlike some other gaming mat suppliers.
From top to bottom in the image below, we added the following mats to our range:
- Quarantine Zone
- Chem Zone
- Battleground V2
- Sands of Time
Some of the Mats in Use
Here’s some pics of the new gaming mats in use from last night’s games. You can also see our new terrain in some of the pics, which had its first outing last night.
We’re always looking at how we can make the club better and what else we can do to improve it. Whether that’s providing great terrain, building our community, running campaigns & events etc. Do feel free to let us know if you have any suggestions!
